Mixed Drinks for Father’s Day

Hi stamping friends, my card today is created with Stampin Up Mixed Drinks for Father’s Day.

I’m quite excited that the Mixed Drinks stamp set is staying in the New Catalogue as I purchased it a bit ago and have not had time to play with it yet…until today of course. 

I decided to make “background noise” or “wallpaper” with the main stamp element to add cohesiveness to the card.

I used the Stitched Shapes Framelits for my art piece and mat for a little definition around the main element.

The art piece is attached to the front using dimensionals.  This gives a great height element to the card. Then I stamped the sentiment in VersaMark Ink and Heat set it white embossing powder so that it POPPED off the basic black

TRY THIS – Two Step Stamping – fastest way EVER to fill a beer  haha…. Stamp the mug in Basic Black.Stamp the “beer” in Crushed Curry right over the mug to fill it. 

I also used the Fine Tip Glue Pen on the mug to give it a subtle glossy effect.

Conditioning Photopolymer Stamps

Welcome to another edition of TUESDAY TIPS…a day when provide you with a hint or a tip that I hope will improve your crafting experience. Here’s a picture tutorial on how to “pre-treat” your new photopolymer stamps to get them stampin well when you first start using them.

There’s 2 ways – either will work…and with amazing!!!
1) Clean them first with your stampin mist and stampin scrub pad really well

2) “Kiss” them with versamark by inking in versamark and wiping it on your hand (don’t worry, you can wash your hands later) but don’t use tissue or wipes as that makes the stamp fuzzy or wipes too much off

The pictures show a remarkable difference! It’s pretty amazing! I hope this will help you condition your stamps for happy crafting!!! #TUESDAYTIPS

Storing Framelits & Thinlets

Hello there friends! I had not realized how long it’s been since I’ve blogged. Welcome to another edition of TUESDAY TIPS…a day when I provide you with a hint or a tip that I hope will improve your crafting experience.

Today I’m sharing how I store my framelits & thinlits. Since I don’t have a separate craft room, I share our dining room table with my fiance…his office, my craft table…I have very limited storage space. I had to be creative with storing my dies. Plus I hated having my hands full with all the inks, markers, stamps, framelits, paper & big shot…or making multiple trips…to gather everything before I was ready to create. Last week I showed you how to remove the framelits from the original packaging, so this is the second step to stay organized!

Craft stores sell magnetic sheets, of different sizes, that work perfect for what I wanted to do!! I buy the roll because for about $5 I get 10 sheets for my framelits. Once I’ve cut down the roll to, I place the framelits on the sheets. The best part is those magnetic sheets fit PERFECTLY in the stamp case.

This allows me too store the framelits/thinlits with the matching stamps!!! How cool is that?!? No more searching, no more multiple trips…it’s all right there!!!

I even did this for the Layering Circles, squares, ovals…etc. I am able to get 6 thinlits in the stamp case! WAY easier to store & if I want a regular square & a stitched square to layer I have it all there!!!
